What is Spreadsheet Ninja?
Posted on Thursday 06 November 2008 - 14:35:22 by spreadsheetninja
Hey there! Welcome to SpreadsheetNinja.com!

What we do here is try to get addicting flash games that you find on the internet, put into spreadsheets. We do this so that you can download these games and play them in the comfort of your own cubicle. By doing this, we eliminate the watchful eye of the Internet Watch Dogs. If you're not on a website playing video games while at work, then you cant get caught. If you're using a spreadsheet you can play it on any computer, anywhere you have Office.

Check out the link above labeled "Spreadsheet Games" to see our big list of games you can download and play for free. New games are added quite often, so be sure to check back often!

Game Release - Last Touchdown

By request, a sort-of sports game!! This game is pretty fun! I'm not a huge sports fan, but this was pretty fun! I love the 'stuff the bad guys into the ground' technique, just wish it did it to the crabby grandmas in the street! LOL!

The Ninjas asks: What do you prefer?
Posted on Tuesday 06 January 2009 - 11:42:50 by spreadsheetninja
So, I've posted two games on the site since I've been working with the idea of *not* emailing them. I will admit that i goofed up on both of them. The first game, I did include links to download it from alternate sites, but only put them in the news post after it got sent to everybody. The second game, I included only one download host, but as it would turn out several people's corporations dont allow FTP. I want to apologize for those blunders. I know it was something new I was working with but I dont know which way would be better. So I would like to ask all of you!

Which do you prefer?

1. Do you want me to send you an email with the game attached when they get released? OR
2. Do you like having the download links available?

My personal feeling on this is to just email you guys(and gals) the game directly. I had a couple tell me they did not get a "Game Delivery" due to it's file size (over 7MB). So that is what got me started thinking about alternate download methods. So if you've got a minute, please let me know which way you prefer to have your games delivered!

Thanks!

~Spreadsheet Ninja

Again, thank everybody who has provided feedback. I love it!!

So, as requested, I am going to add a couple sports games and an archery game. This one is a lot of fun. It's sort of a progressive game, where you can do more the more you play. There are unlockables and is a lot of fun! I almost forgot that I was going to post this because I couldn't stop playing!

Without further delay, I present to you, Downhill Snowboard 2!

For those of you who are not able to visit the site from work, below is an alternate download location.

Game Release - Starshine 2
Posted on Sunday 04 January 2009 - 08:03:28 by spreadsheetninja
If you've ever played the first starshine, then you will know exactly what to do!

In starshine, you've got to use your 'comet' to make all the stars glow. Each star does a different action. The only trick is, you only get one shot. If you dont light up all the stars, then you have to try again. Good luck!

These mirrors are provided to allow you to download the game if your work has blocked this website.

Happy New Year!
Posted on Sunday 04 January 2009 - 01:32:06 by spreadsheetninja
I know it's a few days late, but I've been busy. But I wanted to wish everybody a happy new year.

For those of you who were stuck at your job on Christmas (all 3 of you who visited my website) I want to say that I was right there with you guys. I had to work the night shift, so I'm sure you can imagine that was fun. Good thing I had downloaded the spreadsheets before my job blocked the website! LOL!

Anyways, I've gotten a few comments from you and I appreciate them all. Let me know what sort of games you want to play and I'll put them up ASAP!

Going to try something new.
Posted on Tuesday 30 December 2008 - 16:17:17 by spreadsheetninja
Hey everybody, it's almost 2009 and I'm very glad with this site's growth!!! You guys are absolutely amazing. Apparently word of mouth is so powerful that you've actually started to put a dent in my 4.5 Terrabyte monthly bandwidth allotment. Okay, okay, so it isnt a huge dent. But it is there none the less. Actually, the biggest dent that I have right now is that in order to fulfill my promise in delivering the games directly to your inbox, I have to send out over 40 emails. Granted, it's all automated so there isnt a whole lot of work being done, but it still takes over 5 minutes for the job to finish.

So here's what I'm projecting to try. Since some of your jobs have gone so far as to actually block my website I'm going to help you guys out in other means. What I'm going to try to do is upload the spreadsheet games to several different file hosting services. Keep in mind, that these files will only stay there for a while. If nobody uses the link for 30 days, the file disappears. I will provide those links in every news bulletin that I post instead of sending the email out with the game in it. This solves the issue with lots of email going out, but I'm not sure how effective it will be.

What I really honestly need from all of you is some feedback. If you enjoy getting the games via email, please let me know! I need to know if it's worthwhile for me to keep sending them out. Or, if you can think of an alternative way to deliver the games to you directly I am all ears. The goal is quite honestly to circumvent the Cyber Cops from preventing you from taking advantage of the downtime you have at work. You should have the choice to play games during your breaks. (That's when we play these games right, is during our breaks.... right? heh heh)

So please lend me your ideas and suggestions. 2300+ downloads means that you guys obviously enjoy this website. Help me make it better for you!

Game Release - Gemcraft!
Posted on Wednesday 10 December 2008 - 11:24:21 by spreadsheetninja
My first impression of this game was not a very good one. For whatever reason I didn't like it. But since I had it already I gave it another play and some serious effort. Turns out this game is really fun! I hope you enjoy it too!
